Will my Plymouth house take a loft conversion?
If you have at least 2.2m from joist to ridge in the centre of the loft, it's usually viable. We do a free head-height survey before quoting.
Do I need planning permission?
Many rear dormers and hip-to-gable conversions fall under Permitted Development. Mansards and front-facing dormers usually need full planning. We confirm before any drawings are paid for.
How disruptive is it?
Most of the work is above your existing ceilings. The disruptive part is breaking through for the new staircase — typically a 1–2 week phase. You can stay in the house throughout.
Will my new room be warm enough?
Yes — modern PIR insulation between and under the rafters, plus airtight detailing, makes loft rooms warmer than the rest of the house in winter and well-ventilated in summer.
