We dig out to a proper depth, lay a Type 1 sub-base to the right thickness, install drainage that complies with SUDS regulations and edge everything in concrete or kerbs before any blocks, slabs or resin go down.

- Do I need planning permission for a new driveway?
- Most front driveways are Permitted Development if you use a permeable surface (resin-bound, permeable block paving) or have proper drainage to a soakaway. Non-permeable surfaces over 5m² need planning. We design to avoid the need.
- How long do block paving and resin driveways last?
- A correctly built block-paved driveway lasts 25+ years. Resin-bound is typically 15–20 years before a re-coat. The killer is sub-base — done properly, both surfaces age well.
- Will it be slippery in winter?
- Resin-bound is naturally slip-resistant. Porcelain we always specify R11 or better for outdoor use. Riven slabs and textured block are fine; honed natural stone needs care.
- How long will the work take?
- An average front driveway takes 5–8 working days. Rear patios are 4–7 days depending on access and material.
